I generally keep to myself. Grew up with flash games since I was a kid. In addition to gaming, I'm also a solid writer.

I experimented with making some games a while back, and some people might have noticed I haven't done anything since. Yeah, it didn't really pan out.

There's a couple of reasons for that. Mainly, I've been focusing more and more on running my family business, which doesn't leave much time for much else. Second was that bug and quality testing annoys me too much. I prefer that if something goes wrong, I know what the problem is right away, which is not realistic for games.

So while I still check in here everyday, I'm not gonna be putting up any games for the foreseeable future. Sorry to anyone hoping for more games from me.

Every so often, I go through my list of favorite games/movies and remove any that I haven't gone back to, or unfollow creators that aren't active on Newgrounds anymore. There is always new stuff coming to the site. And if I just added everything that I kinda liked to my favorites, that kinda cheapens the feature. To me, a favorite should be something that you can regularly come back to and enjoy, or a creator where you enjoy almost everything they create.

I am learning a lot about business and finance at the moment. I currently co-own my family business, and I'm on track to run it in about 5 years, alongside my brother. So I'm not super active around here, but I still turn up every now and again.

The standard link doesn't work, but one of the reviews for the game had a link for an imperfect emulated version. This is my favorite flash game from when I was a kid, so I want to keep this link around so I can play it. This post is mostly meant for my personal use.

(this version freezes when quitting out to the main menu from anywhere, but reloading the game will fix it)

Someone might remember that I have done stuff with RPGMaker before. It's great for stories and cutscenes, but I think it's too limiting for actual gameplay. I just today picked up the Stencyl engine to try out and I can already tell that it is much more powerful and versatile.

Please be patient with me. I just got it today, and I'm still figuring out what all the options actually do, let alone how I can use them. Don't expect a masterpiece for at least a couple months, but I think I can make another solid game using this engine.

Hey, so I was playing this game and I enjoyed it enough to try my hand at speedrunning it. My best time is 3:55. I don't see myself getting much lower without serious grinding. I wonder if anyone is feeling up to beating that?

@Lees-pic is the one who made this game. First thing uploaded here too!

UPDATE: Someone in the reviews claimed a time of 3:13. I can see how it might be possible, but I'm not up to pushing myself that far.

It's done! As I've been promising for the last few weeks, I have completed a game and uploaded it here. Go ahead and check it out!

Disclaimer: This is my first game of any kind that I've been happy enough with to put on the internet. I also don't have anyone to help me playtest this game. I'd like to think I was thorough with my own testing, but please let me know if you find any issues. Thanks, and have fun!

Hello everyone who was interested in my experiments with making games. I have just completed a game and confirmed that the file size is small enough to fit on Newgrounds. I'm planning on releasing it soon, but I thought it was worth bringing up some advance notice about it first.

It is tentatively titled "Glorious Combat". As discussed in my previous post. This game is meant as an experiment in turn-based RPG combat. 12 battles of increasing complexity await. You will engage them using a selection of skills that can combo with each other in various ways. The game should take about an hour to beat, and gets quite difficult by the end.

I'm planning on releasing this both here and on the Steam workshop after I've drummed up at least a little bit of attention for it. My planned release date is Saturday, December 26th. I imagine a lot of people will be spending Christmas with friends and family, myself included, so waiting until after Christmas seems like a good idea. Look forward to it, and thanks for sticking around.

So my 'small' starting project has a file size that's too big for a submission onto Newgrounds. I suppose that puts into perspective that the scope of my project is much bigger than I gave it credit for.

In the meantime, I am making a much smaller game. I'm making this to test concepts for a turn-based RPG battle system more than anything else, and the scope is much smaller. No plot, one map, just twelve hand-crafted fights to show off a battle system concept. Should only take 2 weeks at most to finish it, and the file size shouldn't be a problem.

I know there was at least one person looking forward to my original project, and I'm really sorry for the complications relating to it. I hope this should be enough to make up for it.

So remember how I said I was gonna upload my game today? Turns out I need to work out how to reduce file size for RPGMaker projects first. Mine's too big for a game submission to Newgrounds by default. So anyone who's been waiting will have to be patient while I figure out how to optimize things. It should be possible, since I've seen more complex games on here that probably had to work this out too. It's a good learning experience, all in all.
