The gameplay is tight, but the dialog doesn't show up for me, just blank text boxes Unfortunate, since this game is text heavy.

The flight ability is strange at first glance, but I like it in hindsight. Makes it so you have to commit before going airborne.

Also, the ending screen has the numbers appear in a different pattern from the image, I'm guessing that's a leftover from an earlier build.

So there's some things to fix, but it seems really good once those text issues were fixed.

Your feedback is very useful for us to improve the game, thank you very much for your comment n.n nice evening!

The game itself is really snappy and fun to play. Most rooms I played seem to favor goofing off and making up their own games and rules rather than completing objectives most of the time. That's fine, but it's good to be aware of.

That's part of the fun for me hehe

I'll start by acknowledging that making a game in a week is really impressive, no matter what. With that said, this game needs more work before it's ready to go live.

Nothing is explained in this game. Why should I use sword swing instead of sword throw? I don't know, because I can't see enemy health. What is with this weird mix of clicking buttons with the mouse and typing commands? They really don't mix well, literally, since the game breaks if you click a button while the type prompt is onscreen. What does investing do? I didn't see any results, even with a high interest.

1. The game isn't supposed to tell you a lot, you must experiment
2. The mix of clicking and typing was the most intuitive way for me to create the game
3. Investing will give you money back after a certain amount of battles.

Having never played Hotline Miami, it took a minute to get used to how the camera/aiming worked, but once I got it, I had a lot of fun!

Great!
You should definitely try Hotline Miami if you enjoyed this then.

It feels really good to play! Being able to choose where the enemy spawners are planted adds a lot of potential for replaying to find good strategy. And it's just a really cool concept! The only thing I can think of to improve this is more seed types.

Neat concept, and well executed. Only thing is that the dodge roll is pretty much useless. No invincibility as far as I can tell, and you can't roll through enemies, which sucks because most enemies attack by charging into you.

This game is full of smart design. The death mechanic is a great way to push your luck and add more challenge than a typical roguelite. All three classes are excellently balanced, even the melee class, which tends to suck in these kinds of games. Enemies have that red charge that happens if you try to kite them too long. This game is just smart.

My only complaint is that I wish it was longer and more complex, which is a great complaint to have. A new favorite for sure!

Simple enough, with an interesting twist. No single thing majorly wrong, but it could be a little more refined all around. Not bad!

adriendittrick responds:

thanks for the honest review!

Funny idea. Really cool visual style. Movement is really janky.

I want to like this because it's so witty and charming, but the battle system is agonizing. Takes too long, and is super grindy.

I generally keep to myself. Grew up with flash games since I was a kid. In addition to gaming, I'm also a solid writer.
